Introduction:
The Organisation for Tourism and Hospitality Management (OTHM)
was founded in 2003 as a professional membership body servicing
the tourism and hospitality industry throughout the world.
OTHM provides a programme of professional qualifications that
are designed for Student Members to develop progressively the
skills and knowledge that they will need to help them in their
careers.
OTHM qualifications are suitable for people who work or wish to
work in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Work Experience:
Although it is desirable that Certificate students have some
experience in the industry, no minimum is required.
Diploma and Advanced Diploma students are expected to either
have work experience in the industry before joining the course,
or be working part-time in the industry. Candidates should note
that if they intend to study for further professional
qualifications in the industry a certain amount of industrial
experience will probably be required. OHTM provides
opportunities for work placements to all students.
